Frequently Asked Questions:
Changing the Sequence of the Training Schedules

On the charts, Sunday is the day indicated for the long run. Is it okay to change the long run to some other day of the week?

It is perfectly acceptable to change the day you do your long run as long as the sequence of the remaining runs in the week remain in the same sequence as appears on the Mileage Buildup Schedule (Schedule I) and/or the Marathon Training Schedule (Schedule II). Be sure to follow the training concepts that appear on these schedules. For example, if you choose to do your longest run of the week on Wednesday, then make Thursday a complete leg rest day. Be sure the follow the hard/easy concept of training. For more information please review, How to Avoid Injury.
